Sip on a glass of wine or indulge in a piece of dark chocolate, and do yoga.Drink whole milk, eat cheese, snack on yogurt, and lift weights.Eat whole grains and lean protein, and do a total body workout.Fuel your body with fruits and vegetables, and go on a brisk walk.Let’s take this a step further, and forget about specific diets, because when you follow many of the elimination diets, you tend to miss out on nutritious foods your body needs to function at its best.* Instead, I want to present you with the simple idea of eating nutrient dense foods 80% of the time, and exercising moderately for 30 minutes most days of the week. Today, let’s skip over the equations and the numbers and state that a healthy body is a direct result of eating a variety of nutritious foods and exercising daily. I, however, want to take a different approach.

To start things off, what does healthy mean to you? Webster’s dictionary defines health as, “the condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit.” Dietitians determine health by using one of a number of equations – body mass index, ideal body weight, waist to hip ratio, etc. I love helping people reach their goals and feel better about their bodies. But today, I want to share information regarding what it looks like after an individual has developed a healthy lifestyle. In fact, I love these stories so much, I decided I wanted to work with these people, and develop a business around these individuals. I love these stories, and I applaud every single person who has made a change for the better. Many times in the wellness industry we see the before and after photos of some amazing individuals who changed their lifestyle, thus changing their body. In today’s post I want to discuss living a healthy lifestyle.
